Design Process in San Diego
A thoughtful, well-defined process is what turns a vision into a successful build. Our design approach is structured to provide clarity at every stage—aligning expectations, uncovering key details early, and guiding decisions with confidence from concept through construction.
1. DISCOVERY & PLANNING
We begin by understanding your goals, priorities, and vision for the project. This includes your aesthetic preferences, investment range, and timeline.
Following a site visit, we develop a detailed design brief that outlines both the known priorities and potential considerations—creating a clear foundation that guides every decision moving forward.
2. CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
With the design brief established, we translate your vision into initial concepts through finish boards, sketches, and space planning.
This phase is highly collaborative—refining ideas, aligning on direction, and ensuring the design not only looks right, but functions seamlessly for how you live. The goal is to arrive at a concept that feels both inspired and grounded in real-world execution.
3. DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
Following concept approval, all details are refined and plans are created. Your design is then brought to life through 3D renderings so that you can fully envision what your project will look like upon completion.
4. PLANS & DOCUMENTATION
All necessary documentation including floorplans, elevations, specifications and schedules are created. These documents are essential for clear communication amongst all parties in order for the design to be executed accurately.
5. SELECTIONS & PROCUREMENT
Our in-house designer offers you access to trade-only showrooms and resources. We will take care of ordering and coordinating delivery which ensures that costly mistakes and delays are avoided.
6. CLOSING
A final walk-through and cleaning ensure your project is move-in ready. You will receive a copy of your complete design package to have as a reference source for everything that was installed in your project.
