After you have nailed down your budget it is time to get your designer and construction team involved. The initial drawings will be used to complete a submittable set of plans ready to be processed for permits. With the high demand for new construction homes and room additions in San Diego the permitting process takes between 3 & 4 months for an addition, adn 6-9 months for a new home to complete and in some cases even longer. A typical timeline for most additions is 3-4 months, and new home builds range from 9-12 months. Depending on the extent of your remodel it can take anywhere from weeks to months to complete.
