Our Team

Luke & Leah Woolsey

FOUNDERS

Woolsey Construction was founded in 2007 by San Diego natives Luke & Leah Woolsey. After working in general construction for several years, Luke acquired his General B license and started in the construction industry through real estate investing and residential construction. Leah earned her real estate license in 2007 and worked as an agent for several years before transitioning into construction. After going through the process of purchasing, renovating, and selling property, they decided to use their knowledge and experience to build a company. With an eye for design and a passion for construction, they have created a company that stands apart from the rest.

The Woolsey Construction team is dedicated to constructing homes and spaces that enrich people’s lives. The company strives to help its client’s vision become a reality. Whether a client is looking to build an addition to accommodate a growing family, create an outdoor dining space and casita for entertaining friends, or remodel a living area to better fit their needs, our team wants to help make people’s homes fit their lifestyle. We care about each and every one of our clients and ensure the quality of our work is always top-notch.

Seth Woolsey

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

A San Diego native, Seth served four years in the United States Army as infantry and color guard. After the Army, he attended Grossmont College and earned an associate degree in criminal justice. Seth serves our team as the head of our project management department. He has been in the construction industry since 2001 working for sub-contractors and general contractors on residential and commercial jobs. He brings his broad knowledge of general contracting to Woolsey Construction as our lead project manager. After work, you will find Seth spending time with his wife and two children, or enjoying a round of golf.

Robert Chambers

SENIOR SALES & ESTIMATOR

A San Diego native, Robert started working in the field of residential construction in 1993 and earned his general contractor license in 2000. He is the lead sales agent for our team, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and years of experience in residential and commercial construction. Robert spends his leisure time out hiking, exploring San Diego, and spending time with his granddaughter.

Jessica Melius

ACCOUNTING

Jessica received her BA in Accounting from San Jose State University and has used her skills to implement and support accounting software platforms in a wide variety of industries. Jessica serves the Woolsey team as our financial manager and accountant. She enjoys being a part of Woolsey Construction and watching beautiful spaces being created for clients. After work, Jessica spends her time with her husband and two kids, relaxing pool-side with a good book.

Aaron Rawls

PROJECT MANAGER

Aaron is a San Diego local, born and raised in the historical area of North Park. He began his career in the construction industry right out of high school and has over 18 years of experience in the trades. With his growing knowledge of construction, Aaron has been a huge asset to the Woolsey team. He started out as a field technician and has worked his way up, now assisting the project management team with keeping our jobs running smoothly and within budget. When he’s not working, you will find him enjoying quality outdoor time with his family, friends, and dog Harley. He has a passion for fishing, snowboarding, riding his motorcycle, and kicking back to some country music.

Jon Zar

SALES & ESTIMATING

Jon Zar was born and raised in Manhattan Beach, CA, and moved to San Diego in 2015. Since a very early age, he has been interested in construction and building design. After attending the University of Colorado at Boulder, he started his construction career in the aviation field working as an FAA Master Parachute Rigger and manufacturer. Shortly after moving to San Diego, he made the switch to residential construction in project management and is currently with Woolsey Construction in the sales and estimating department. In his free time, he enjoys building furniture, snowboarding, surfing or just relaxing at the beach. He’s a big fan of live music and you can find him at many concerts around Southern California throughout the year.

Matt Rayburn

FIELD SUPERVISOR

Matt is a seasoned Field Supervisor at Woolsey Construction, bringing an impressive 35 years of construction experience to the table. He's a true San Diego lifer, born and raised in the vibrant neighborhood of El Cajon. After graduating from high school, Matt jumped right into construction. With 18 years of crew oversight, he has the skills and leadership ability to get the job done. He's an expert framer and has a deep understanding of the entire construction process. His attention to detail is unmatched, ensuring that every project he oversees is successful. During his downtime, you'll find him casting a line in the ocean, and when he's not out enjoying nature, he's hanging out poolside with his loved ones, furry friends included, or working away on various projects at his own place.
